Ila Mettie Owens Johnson, age 86, of Washburn went to be with Jesus early Monday morning, February 11, 2013. She was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church in Maynardville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Johnson; granddaughter, Alexandria Denise Johnson; brothers, Delmar Owens, Earl Owens, and J.H. Owens; parents Harley and Audra Owens. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Doodle Johnson and son, Danny “Flash” Johnson, all of Washburn; grandchildren, Jackson Boyd Johnson, Jasmine Denae’ Johnson, Michael “Tommy” Johnson and Donald Wayne Johnson; brothers and sisters, Alva Mackey, Odilan Owens, Daisy Morgan, Mary Blair, Elmer Owens, Leta Lawrence, Darlene Rush, Shirley Wolfenbarger, and Wanda Groover; many nieces and nephews and community friends. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the chapel at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service. Family and friends will meet Thursday, February 14, 2013 by 11:00 AM at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home to proceed to Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery for a 12:00 PM graveside service. Pallbearers will be Darryl Morgan, Lester Blair, Jackson Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Johnny Shackles, Richard Welch, and Joey Rush. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Owens, Brian Morgan, Marcus Rush, Barry Wolfenbarger, and Harl Monroe.
