C. Dianne Gray, age 64, of Rutledge went to receive the room Jesus had prepared for her on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church of Rutledge and retired from Appalachian Electric in August 2010 after 37 years of service. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed outings with special friends and traveling. She was preceded in death by mothers, Opal and Ruby Purkey and father, Bill Purkey; grandparents, Winnifred and Omer Lowery, Ennie and Bob Purkey; mother and father-in-law, Arlie and Gracie Gray. She is survived by her husband, Jackie Gray; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Deirdre Gray; grandchildren, Brittany Brabston, Kalley Gray, and Rylan Gray all of Rutledge; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Danny Poore; sister, Sheila Hickey; brother, Charles Purkey all of Jefferson City; brother-in-law, Frankie Gray of Rutledge and sister-in-law, Gail Gray of Jefferson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the chapel at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home. Rev. Stacey Lawson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service. Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery.
