Jerry Hancock age 73 of Rutledge went to be with the Lord March 2, 2013 at his residence. He was a lifetime member of Blue Springs Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jean; and his parents, Murlan (Doc) and Irene Hancock. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Beulah Hancock; daughter, Joyce Hancock; both of Rutledge; brother, Jarvis (Jan) Hancock of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2013 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with Rev. Greg Williamson and rev. Eddie Holbrock officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 5, 2013 in Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Corum, Rod Coffey, Blake Hodge, Bobby Maples, Zack Holbrock, and Brandon Williams. The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. prior to services Monday evening at the funeral home.
