Leon Whaley

: Leon Whaley age 83 of Rutledge, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Laura Whaley of Sevier County. He was a member of Central Point Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific during the Korean War. He was also retired from TDOT, a former road superintendant of Grainger County, and a member of Rising Star Masonic Lodge in Rutledge. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Whaley; sons, Jerry (Marina) Whaley, Tim Whaley, Michael (Friday) Whaley of Sevierville, and Larry (Amy) Whaley of Morristown; grandsons, Abe and Lee Whaley of Sevierville, Bryson Whaley of Morristown, Matthew, Joshua, and Christopher Whaley of Sevierville; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister, Reba Romines of Pigeon Forge. The family will receive friends 1:00 P.M. till 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home, and then proceed to Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside committal service.Read Obituary
