Travis J. Atkins, age 32 of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2019. A cherished son, he will be deeply and sadly missed by all that knew him. He was very witty with a wonderful sense of humor. He could always put a smile on your face; a humble and kind-hearted man and an avid music lover who was extremely talented in learning to play all musical instruments. He enjoyed nature and exploring the great outdoors; hiking, hunting and fishing. He loved everybody and he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Christine C. Atkins, and Kyle and Alice Hensley; and his father Ronald Lee Atkins. He is survived by his mother Loretta R. Atkins and fiancée Laura Ayala; those left to cherish his memory are his sisters Corey Atkins, and Kayla Atkins, and brother Robert Atkins; uncles Michael (Michelle) Atkins, Bobby Atkins, and Jimmy Atkins; aunt Jennifer Herron; cousins Heather (Corey) Atkins, Zack (Caitlyn) Atkins, and Jake Atkins, as well as other beloved family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with funeral services to follow. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Bean Station Cemetery near First Baptist Church in Bean Station. Rev. Truman Coffey will officiate the services.
