Cleo Wilma (Johnson) Jarvis, age 76, Born January 14, 1941 in Sneedville, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System surrounded by her family, after battling a long illness. Originally from Sneedville, she later moved to Rutledge in 1970 with her family for work. Early in life she professed her faith in Christ and was a member at Duck Creek Baptist Church until later years she moved her letter to Grace Missionary Baptist Church. A 50 plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star, presently Tate Springs 425, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend, never meeting a stranger. She retired from Bean Station Furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clay and Ova (Hurley) Johnson, In-laws: Lawton and Valerie (Seal) Jarvis, sister: Evelyn Winstead, brother and sister-in-law: Clifford and Gertie Johnson, sister-in-law: Guelda Trent, brother and sister-in-law: Therman and Dorsie Jarvis. Cleo leaves her husband of 56 years, Norman Jarvis, grandsons: Zach Byrd and Gavin Yates, daughters: Saundra Jarvis, Cynthia Jarvis, Camille and Mike Byrd, Karen and Jay Yates, all or Rutledge. Brother and sister –in-laws: Buster and Marie Jarvis, Carolyn Marshall and Carl Winstead; Nieces: Jodie Hopkins and Diane (Mark) Seal of Sneedville, nephew: Dustin (Amanda) Johnson or Rutledge and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special caregiver: Selena Byrd; special friends: Ina Johnson, Nell Short and Little Linda. Visitation with her family will be Monday, June 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 PM and funeral services to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Chad Wallace and Rev. Vernon Dalton officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Staley, Doug Setsor, Steve Dixon, Mark Seal, Dustin Johnson, Dennis Lakins, Buddy Hipsher, and Jr Seal; honorary pallbearers are JD Short and Johnny Roach.
