Dan Livesay 78 of Rutledge peacefully passed over the river and entered heavens gates on Wednesday June 21, 2017. Dan was a loving husband, father, papaw and special friend to many. He professed his faith in the Lord at an early age and was a devoted member of Riverview Missionary Baptist Church. Dan proved his faith through his spiritual testimony and he was an ordained deacon. He was a very talented man, retired brick mason and an avid fisherman. He loved his family and loved life to the fullest. He lived a very humble simple life but was content. He never met a stranger and could carry a conversation with anyone. He believed in taking care of his family and being a good neighbor. He was preceded in death by: parents Ethel and Clarence (Hoofer) Livesay; son, Danny Livesay; and daughter, Connie Livesay Bowlin. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Myrlte Livesay; children, Sharon Livesay of FL, Dena (Dale) Clemons, Bean Station and Bobby (Julie) Livesay of Rutledge. Sisters Frances (Bo) Johnson of Bean Station, Mildred Brewer of Mooresburg; Grandchildren: Wendy (Mark) Noe of Rutledge, Crystal (Andrew) Mize of Oak Ridge, Hannah Clemons of Bean Station, Hilary (John) Crotts of NC, Kelly King and Stephanie King of Rutledge, Miranda (Adam) Pierce of Mohawk, Jesse (Corine)Livesay of LA., Nick (Savannah)Richie of IL, Zak McCartt and Harmony Blanchies of FL. Great Grandchildren: Parker and Alyson Noe, Cole Clemons, Laney, Landry, Titus and Trinity Mize, Blake Long, Karley Greene, Nathan Pierce, Matthew and Brayland Hackney, Bryson Eslinger, Sylvia and Abigail Crotts, Zoey and Brooklyn Livesay, Finley Beverly, Step-great grandchildren Christian and Zander Pierce. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday June 24, 2017 at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 25, 2017 at Riverview Missionary Baptist Church, Bean Station with the interment to follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Rutledge. Pallbearers will be Tom Cabbage, Tim McGinnis, Harry Bacon, Stanley Yates, Jay Yates, and Dewayne Phillips.
