: Helen McGoldrick age 78 of Rutledge passed away June 5, 2017 at Sevierville Health and Rehab in Sevierville. She was retired from the Rutledge Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McGoldrick; parents, George and Lounell Walker McDougald. Survivors include her son, Lee McGoldrick of Rutledge; grandchildren, Ashley (Clinton) Naquin of Sevierville, and Ryan McGoldrick of Morristown; great grandson, Cayson Naquin of Sevierville; brothers, Paul, Charles, and George McDougald; sister, Lucille Pilcher all of Georgia; sister-in-law, Doris McGoldrick of Rutledge; brother-in-law, Ted McGoldrick of Rutledge; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 9, 2017 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home 2with Pastor Cherie Young officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. prior to services Friday at the funeral home.Read Obituary

Helen was my older sister. At one time three of us - George, Helen, and me - were in high school at the same time. That was a big deal in a high school of about 300 students. All of us siblings - add Lucile and Paul - were close growing up. Later we all went our separate ways. Life is like that. I went to University of Georgia, then went in the Army. That was a half-century ago. Still we managed to stay in touch. We each had our own personalities. Helen was the quiet one. I always admired her for that. Some of us were loud and rowdy; she kept her composure. I will miss her dearly.

Helen was one of the sweetest ladies I've met. We became friends setting at the softball field watching the girls play ball. She will be greatly missed. Sorry for your loss Ashley and Ryan and the rest of her family. Rest In Peace my friend.
