Joyce Marie McHaffie

Joyce Marie Mills McHaffie age 77 of Jefferson City, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017. She retired from BASF to her lifelong love of farming and gardening. She was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she diligently volunteered at the monthly food pantry and helped lead the senior citizens group. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. (Bob) McHaffie, daughter: Norma Jean Walker, parents: Charles and Katherine Mills and brother: Ed Mills. Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Robin and Mike Speed, Talbott; son and daughter-in-law: Bobby and Cindy McHaffie, Jefferson City; grandchildren: Laura Craig, Robby and Chasity Walker, Chris Speed, Weatherlee and Chris Renshaw, Jimbo McHaffie and fiance’ Rachel Perrin, and Catie and Matt Courtney. Brothers and sisters: David (Helen) Mills, Mary (Hubert) Cox, Alfred Skeeter (Bonnie) Mills, Nadine (Frank) McKee, Martha (John) Cureton, Eula V. (Melvin) Brown, Fred (Dawn) Mills and Gladys (Pete) Sexton, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her sisters: Mary and Martha, nephew: Chris Mills and dear friends: Louise Boling and David and Jerri Etta Bishop. A memorial service will be held at 7 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Boling and Rev. Scott Cline officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM prior to the services.
