Lawrence Edward Wells

Lawrence Edward “Eddie” Wells, 66, of Rutledge, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Eddie was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jill Vaughn Wells, on March 30, 2017; parents Leslie and Lena Mae Roach Wells; brother Fain Wells; sister, Darlene Wells Perry; father and mother-in-law, J. W. and June Vaughn; and brothers-in-law Johnny and Bill Vaughn and Jimmy Hipshire. He is survived by step-son Scott (Dina) Beeler; granddaughters Ginny, Anna, and Abby Beeler, of Woodstock, Georgia; brothers, Louis (Doris) Wells and Curtis (Donna) Wells; sister, Maxine Hipshire, all of Rutledge; sisters-in-law Ruth Wells, Judy (Mike) Tisdale, Barbara (Ron) Neubert, and Jenny (Mike) Keith, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; a host of nieces and nephews, and his special companion, “Little Bit.” Eddie, an Operating Engineer, had over forty years of service with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 917. He retired in 2013. In keeping with the wishes of Eddie, there will be no services. The family suggests memorials honoring Eddie may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Blue Springs Baptist Church, 956 Hwy 92, Rutledge, Tennessee 37861, in care of Garry Samsel.
