Anna Belle Greenlee Smith, age 90, of Rutledge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong member of Central Point Baptist Church. She taught school for many years in Grainger County including Young and Central Point Schools, and was a graduate of Carson Newman College.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Southerland and P.E. Smith and her parents, Charlie and Stella Greenlee. Anna Belle was the only daughter of eleven children. All her brothers preceded her in death; Millard, Carol, Emzee, T.H., Preston, Vaughn, Alvin, Faine, J. Harold, and Garland Greenlee.
She is survived by her loving son, Steve Longmire and daughter in law Kim Longmire; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Longmire; step grandchildren, Justin (Mia and Boyd) Brooks, Whitlee (Nathan) McCroskey, Emalee (Kannon) Roberts and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Ridgeview Terrace for the wonderful care given to Anna Belle during her stay at the nursing home.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 7:00pm. Rev Greg Williamson officiating.
The family and friends will meet at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10:00am to go in procession to Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
