Billy E. Trent, 86, of Grainger County, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15th, after an extended illness. He professed faith at a young age at Adriel Baptist Church in Bean Station. Bill was a retired builder, and his passion in life was the time he spent in the woods with his hunting dogs. In later years, he enjoyed trading and collecting guns.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Polly (Livesay) and Grant Trent; and his sister, Maxine (Trent) Galyon, all of Morristown.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Robert) Flatter of Morristown, granddaughter, Merrhya (Ryan) Buchanan, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter, Vickie Trent of White Pine, grandchildren, Robin (Norman) Smith, Jonathon Devotie, Jeremy Spencer, Justin (Lacey) Hopkins, and 6 great grandchildren; son, Gregory Trent of Morristown, daughter, Melissa (Jairus) Williams of Rutledge, grandson, Jared Williams; son, Mike Trent of Morristown, and grandchildren, Seth and Abby Trent; and faithful friend, Johnny Moore of Mooresburg.
Friends may stop by Smith-Reagan Funeral Home at their convenience on Friday, February 19, 2021, from noon – 6pm.
Friends and family will meet at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home at 9:45am on Saturday, February 20, 2021, and proceed to Meadow Branch Cemetery for an 11am graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Galyon, Donny Hixon, Johnny Moore, Seth Trent, Jared Williams, and Deward Wolfe.
