Charles Ray Rucker Sr., age 75 of Rutledge, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at UT Medical Center. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Freedom’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Kathleen Coffey Rucker; brother, David Rucker; niece, Carsetta Rucker; and several special aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie Jean Rucker;children, Charles Ray Rucker Jr. of Washburn, Kathleen Renee (Greg) Shelton, and Anthony Lynn Rucker, both of Rutledge; grandchildren, Melissa Renee (Kylor) DeBord, Elijah Ray Shelton and girlfriend Holly Phillips, and Haley Renee Nicole Rucker all of Rutledge; one great-grandson, William Jaxton DeBord also of Rutledge; sisters, Anita (Clifton) Harrell and Kathy Coffey of Thorn Hill; sister in law, Linda Rucker of Bean Station; uncle, Sam (Lena) Coffey of Thorn Hill; aunts, Mary Lou Coffey of Michigan, Edith Rucker of Corryton, and Mary Ratcliff of Knoxville, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be: Charlie Rucker, Larry Coffman, Mark Coffman, Howard Coffman, Chris Coffey, and Malcolm Beeler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Stevie Coffey, Jeff Dalton, Darrell Dalton, and Clifton Harrell.
Friends my stop by Smith Reagan Funeral Home at their convenience on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 12:00 – 5:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday at Smith Reagan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Smith Reagan Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Greg Shelton and Rev. Leonard Dalton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Freedom’s Chapel Cemetery on Helton Road.
