Donald Ray Bivens, age 71, of Bean Station (formally of Stone Mountain, GA), went to be with the Lord August 20, 2022.
Donald graduated from Rule High School and began working at Levi Strauss. After moving to Atlanta he attended Dekalb Community College. Donald retired from Sherwin Williams and loved the Atlanta Braves and UT Football.
He was saved as a young adult and while living in Atlanta he attended church regularly. He loved and appreciated online church services at Beulah Land Church in Talbott.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Bivens; uncle, Sammy Givens; brother, Ellis Bivens; nephew, Terry Bivens; brother in law, Shirrell Crumpley; beloved niece, Lisa Ritter Winstead and Pete Winstead.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Gerri Bivens; sister in laws, Doris Ritter, Judy Crumpley, Nancy Quinn, and Sue Bivens; nephews, Brian (Teresa) Ritter, Jeff (Heather) Crumpley and son Adam, Dan (Kathy) Crumpley; nieces, Amy Quinn (Alex Lopez) and son Mateo, Lori Quinn, Erica Ritter Taylor (Matthew) and children Emma, Eli, and Mason, and Erica Warmack (Andy) and children Jackson and Libby.
The family would like to express deepest love and appreciation to, Albert Cardwell for his friendship of over 50 years, and Vickie Fugate who is a friend who became family. The family would also like to thank the medical staff at Jefferson Memorial for their expert care and support.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
