Ellis Ray Blanken from Rutledge, was born October 8, 1944, and passed away March 7, 2020. He was a member of Narrow Valley Baptist Church. He was an avid Grainger Grizzlies Basketball fan and enjoyed watching all the games. Go Grizzlies!
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jean Blanken; parents George and Bonnie Blanken; brothers Ralph and Clifford, and sister Jewell Bilbrey.
He is survived by sons Steve (Glenda) Blanken, and Roger Blanken; daughters Lisa (Mark) Dalton, and Amy (Gabe) Walker; grandchildren Holly (Jesse) Watson, Nelson (Mariah) Dalton, Ashley (Daniel) Spears, Zack (Anna) Blanken, Cory (Lizzie) Dalton, Lindsay Blanken, Eli and Cassie Walker; ten great-grandchildren, and one on the way; brother Palmer Blanken, sister June (Jerry) Calfee, and brother-in-law Jakey Beets, and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Narrow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert White, Rev. Shane Pierce, and Rev. Gabe Walker will officiate the services.
