Obituary

Gerald Edgar McGinnis (Pap), 86, of Washburn TN passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, May 20, 2022. Gerald accepted the Lord as his Savior at thirteen years old. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. Gerald was known for his work ethic and love for his family and community. He served four years in the United States Air Force.

 He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah McGinnis; son Gregory (JB) McGinnis; his parents Tilden and Molissie McGinnis, his brother John Paul McGinnis.

 Gerald is survived by his son Tim McGinnis (Portia); daughter in law Tika McGinnis; brother Earl McGinnis; his grandchildren: Jessica Farmer (Stephen), Matt McGinnis (Alicia), Haley Garland, Brooke Thompson (Josh), Michalia Fisher (Davis), Landon McGinnis, Aaron Pinne (Monique); and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Funeral services will be provided by Smith Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge TN. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, May 24th 6-8 pm with funeral following. The graveside service will be held at Cleveland Cemetery in Washburn on Wednesday, May 25th at 11am.

Pallbearers: Brooke Thompson, Michalia Fisher, Landon McGinnis, Jimmy Dalton, Michael Kulp, Isaac Kulp, and Chris Fox. Honorary pallbearers: Rick Bailey (Danger), John Beeler, Phillip Acuff, Greg Tipton, Malcom Beeler, Woody Nicley, Dan Collins, Terry Bell (Peach), Wayne Williams (Redbone), and Derrick Lay
