Herbert Zobel, formerly of Wellborn, Florida, passed away at the young age of 92, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in his son Richard’s home in Rutledge, Tennessee. He had moved to live with his Son and Daughter-in-law, Richard and Jill, in their home in Tennessee in July of 2021.
Herb was previously a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, where he lived from 1956 to 1990, after moving there from New York. He was an active member of the Lions Club and served as President in 1968. He owned and operated the Garden Store at 414 East Ocean Avenue from 1967 to 1974. He also worked for the City of Boynton in the Parks and Rec Department. After retiring, he moved to Wellborn, Florida in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Law Zobel, step-son, Michael Renolds Law, and granddaughter, Katie Law Brannon.
He leaves behind many loved ones, including a son and daughter, Richard Zobel of Rutledge, Tennessee and Bonnie Haire of St. Petersburg, Florida, and a step-son and daughter, Mark Law of Ocklawaha, Florida and Renee Smith of Temple, Georgia and 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Services are to be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Daniels Funeral Home in Branford, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Services, 3301 West Andrew Jackson Highway, Suite 102, Morristown, Tennessee 37814 in his name. The staff at both Hospice and Home Health of UT were very caring and compassionate in their care of Herb Zobel, and the family truly appreciates all their efforts. It was because of their help and support, Herb was able to remain in the home after a brief stay in a local facility.
