Howard L. Morgan, age 92, of Rutledge, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his children.
He was best known to friends and family by “Rusty” or “Buddy”. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and a lifelong member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Grainger County is where he was born and raised and where he and his wife built a wonderful life of 69 years. He was a retired carpenter, electrician, plumber, jack of all trades, a burley tobacco farmer and remained active in raising beef cattle.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life; Evelyn Morgan, his parents; George W and Ella Morgan, brothers; Billy Joe, Willis, Jesse and Robert Morgan, sisters; Hazel Acuff, Mildred Miller, Helen Roach, Mary Clark and grandson; Daniel Morgan.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Michael (Ella) Morgan, daughter and son-in-law; Suzann (Steve) Cloninger, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, February 5,2022 with funeral service immediately following at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge. Graveside services 2:00pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
