James Harvey (Buddy) Morgan, age 85 of Rutledge, entered into his heavenly home on the morning of July 4, 2020. He was a preacher, farmer, and retired miner. He loved God and spreading the Word of God. James was preceded in death by parents, James and Ruth Morgan; wife, Iva Lou (Kitts) Morgan; siblings, Tommy Morgan and Mary Ruth Morgan; and daughter-in-law, Iona (Brown) Morgan.
He is survived by siblings, Barbara Scholten and Emert Morgan; children, Howard (Betty) Morgan, Donnie Morgan, Kathy (Rick) Williams, Betty (Johnny) Bales; grandkids, Heather Hixon (fiancé Sean Rogers); Jackie (Shane) Whittemore; Ritchie (Shaina) Williams; April Morgan (Robert Cobb); Hope (Wes) Haun; Danny (Deadra) Morgan; Jessica (Jason) Jones; Jenny (Travis) Myers; Whitney (Spencer) England; Hillary (Mitch) Morgan; Morgan (Thomas) Wilson; and twenty-two great grandkids.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Health, Chaplin James Goins, and nephew, Ricky Morgan.
Receiving friends will be held at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge, TN at 6-8PM, July 5, 2020, with service following after. Graveside Service will be held at Narrow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery at 10 AM, July 6, 2020. Services will be held by Rev. Gary Marshall and Rev. Johnny Bales. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Narrow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
