Rutledge - John Hargus “Bub” Jarnagin went home to be with the Lord on Feb 12, 2022 at UT Medical Center following a long illness. He was 43.
John, known to most as “Bub” was born on June 30, 1978 in Knoxville TN. He graduated in 1996 from Rutledge High School.
Soon after, John started his career in the family business at Jarnagin Ford. Through his professional life, John formed personal relationships that would last a lifetime. His many faithful customers were also his dearest friends. He was currently employed at Lance Cunningham Ford in Knoxville.
Those who knew him recognized his love for UT Sports, all things Grainger Athletics, family vacations to Destin, and most especially spending time sitting and sharing stories with those closest to him.
John had a gracious heart and truly had a gift for making all around him feel as though he was their best friend. In his passing, his final act of love was giving the gift of life through organ donation, selflessly donating his heart and other organs.
Although John enjoyed many activities and friendships, it was his family that brought him the most joy. Spending time with his family, fiance, Heather and children truly brought John the most happiness. His greatest achievement was being a dad to Gracie and Grant who were the lights of his life.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many physicians, nurses, and therapists who aided in John’s medical care. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. James Hurst, Dr. Shane Kelley and the UT Medical Staff.
John is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Edythe and Willard Hargus, his paternal grandparents Edith and Paul Jarnagin, and nephew Walker John Wells.
He is survived by his loving fiance Heather Watson; children Gracie Marie Jarnagin, age 18 and Grant Franklin Jarnagin, age 15; mother, Rita Jarnagin of Rutledge; father, John Jarnagin of Rutledge; sister Jenny and husband Andy Wells of Rutledge; brother Drew Jarnagin of Rutledge; nephews and niece Brody, Molly Kate, and Emerson Wells of Rutledge; Special in-laws Dr. Woodard and Mary Ann Foutch of Rutledge; countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Blue Springs Baptist Church in Rutledge.
