Mary Ruth (Hipshire) Wallace, age 84 of Bean Station, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020. She was saved at Riverview Missionary Baptist Church and was a founding member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Mary loved to cook; she served as cafeteria manager at Kingswood School and Bean Station Elementary School during her career. Mary’s hobby was painting and she specialized in Christmas Gourds, which brought cheer throughout the community.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Paul Wallace, father Rev. Virch Hipshire, mother Florence Johnson Hipshire, brothers Roy and Ray Hipshire, sisters Pyna Miller and Mae Dean Coffey, and infant daughter Rosemary.
She is survived by her children Steve (Agnes) Wallace, Kathy (Bob) Johnson, Randy (Nancy) Wallace, Jerry “Jeremiah” (Pat) Wallace, Martha (Jeff) Turner, and Perry “Sonny” (Cindy) Wallace; grandchildren Amanda Goen, Laura Johnson, Samantha Lawson, Rev. Chad Wallace, Jerrica Herd, Sara Holt, Jennifer Singleton, Daniel Singleton, Roy Wallace, and Wesley Wallace; sister Rosa Wallace; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Pearl Hipshire, and Anne Bell Bowlin; brother-in-law Elmer Coffey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Meyers and Rev. Chad Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
