Rev. Martin Roach, 79, of Rutledge passed away at home with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Daniel; aunt and uncle Helen and Junior Spoon; and his wonderful son-in-law, Gary Yardley. He was retired from Magnavox, farming and pastoring churches which he loved to do. Health issues forced him to quit preaching and playing his guitar with pianist Linda Winstead of Southside Baptist Church. He suffered a stroke on May 29, 2019, and had to retire from that also. He dearly loved Bluegrass Gospel music and had made music all his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Brenda; children, Robin, Mark and Jamie (Ashley); grandchildren, Chelsea, Courtney, Tyler, Sarah, Hailey, Aaron and Analeigh; great grandchildren, Caty, Carli and Oakley; special friends, Mitzi, Ryan, Gary and Aryanna.
Everyone is welcome to attend the graveside service at 11am on Monday, April 13, 2020, at Central Point Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Woods and Rev. Mark Kitts officiating.
Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice nurses Shaunda and Garrett.
