Ronnie Lynn Hodge, 70, of Rutledge, TN went home to greet his Lord June 30, 2022, no more to be tormented by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Ronnie was a born again Christian and loved Central Point Baptist Church, where he was a member and attended since his teenage years until his health no longer permitted. He was a member of Rising Star Masonic Lodge #44 for 40 years.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his loving and devoted grandparents, Bill and Ada McDaniel; his mother, Dorothy Hodge Greenlee; father, Robert Hodge; infant sister, Mary Ann; paternal grandparents, Clayton and Sue Hodge; also several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Joyce Foster Hodge; their devoted son Steven and his wife Erin, who was as much his daughter as possible. Brothers, Jimmy Hodge (Fern) and Donnie Hodge, both of Rutledge. His sister-in-law, Linda Hixon, of Dandridge. His Aunts, Evelyn Hodge of Rutledge; Carolyn Hodge of Knoxville; and Janet Hodge of Mascot; uncles, Lewis Hodge of Knoxville, and Eddie (Marie) McDaniel of Rutledge; two nieces, three nephews, and several cousins; along with the many friends made through his years in business and while riding motorcycles.
Ronnie was the owner of Hodge Body Shop that he built and operated for over 40 years. The last thirty years were with his son, Steven, who is carrying on his dad’s legacy.
A very special thanks to all who prayed for him without knowing the extent of his illness as his family struggled to keep it private as that was his wish.
Our family wishes to express our gratitude to Dr. Mark Holland for Ronnie’s care and friendship for several years, along with Smoky Mountain Hospice for the last four weeks.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Smith Reagan Funeral Home with funeral services to follow with Rev. Mark Kitts officiating. Interment will be at Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:30 am.
